Faith Hamilton

Faith started her yoga journey in 2001.  She was a Personal Trainer and Step Aerobics Instructor needed something that would help to lengthen the body’s muscles, and release the shoulders, hips, and hamstrings.  Faith found what she was looking for in Hatha Yoga.  She loved the benefits that she received from the practice of yoga and found it to be very beneficial in her training.

After many years of resistance training, and doing a vast array of powerful workout programs, Faith herniated her cervical and lumbar discs - she also injured her knees, hips, and shoulders.  She was also told by her physician, that she had severe carpel tunnel syndrome.  It became very painful to continue the rigorous training that she had been practicing over the years.

Faith then began to research the best types of exercises to replace her exercise regimen.  In 2010, she discovered Vinyasa and Ashtanga style yoga.  She found it to be the best choice for her to continue to physically challenge her body, as well as increase strength, balance, and flexibility.  Faith also added TRX to my regimen because, it also proved to be an excellent way to develop these qualities without too much jarring on the body.

After coaxing from her yoga mentors: Kay Westcott and Billie Gollnick (Kay’s 89- year old mentor), Faith decided to widen her horizon.   She took the Advanced Yoga Studies course with Kay Westcott in 2014.  She began using yoga therapy to address her own physical limitations and found it to be a phenomenal substitution for medicine and the surgery that doctors told her she needed for her shoulders, wrists, hips, and knees.  Yoga studies and practice completely changed Faith’s life in such an incredible way— spiritually, emotionally, and physically, and beyond!

After completing the course, she began guiding a small group of women nurses, battling breast cancer. After leading such a group and seeing the benefits they (and she) received, It became apparent to Faith that this healing art was invaluable to all beings in our society for many different reasons.

Faith became nationally certified with Lex Gillan in 2014.  She feels that it is fun to change your point-of-view on exercise and visualize moving the body in different ways to receive the optimal results that one desires.

Faith enjoys working with all ages and fitness levels from kids to seniors to athletes.  I look forward to sharing the love for Yoga and fitness, finding ways to be the best person she can be - being more relaxed, happier, healthier, and better than before.
