Jessica was diagnosed with Scoliosis at the age of 11. Over the years, it became very painful and at sometimes disabling - as there is no known cure for the spinal disorder.
In 2013, after years of searching for the right physician, she was finally referred to Dr. Stanley Jones of Spine Care and he was the first to recommend yoga in lieu of pain killers as treatment.
Yoga has been a life changer for Jessica not only physically - but also spiritually. In 2017, Jessica earned her RYT-200 certification from the Yoga institute under Lex Gillian with her main focus on Yin and Restorative yoga.
Jessica passionately believes that yoga can be fluid and flexible to suit the needs of each individual. As she, herself encountered, everyone is different and we all move at our own pace and rhythm. She loves to encourage her students to not feel compelled to compete with the stranger next them, or their egos. She believes in sowing the seeds of inner discovery and growth without the need of superficial approval.
Jessica’s classes can be relaxing yet challenging at times. She incorporates mindful meditation and aromatherapy to help guide students to focus on their present moment to assist in strengthening the practice.
