Yoga Nidra Workshop
Do you have chronic fatigue? Trouble falling asleep? Can’t turn off the mental static? Yoga Nidra can help! It is the practice of yoga (uniting) while in a restive state. Yoga Nidra will take you into the space between sleep and awake where the parasympathetic nervous system (rest response) is fully engaged. Complete rest in this way promotes wellness for all systems of the body, even down to a cellular level. All the while, the mind is engaged in deep meditation.
Yoga Nidra is an ancient practice for which there was no name founded thousands of year. The term was coined and proliferated in the 20th century by the Swami Satyananda Saraswati. In more recent times this practice has been utilized by many yoga teachers and practitioners, notably Richard Miller the founder of the Integrative Restorative Institute who created the version of yoga nidra called “irest”. Miller uses the irest tecqnique with various students including active military, vetrans, people suffering from PTSD, those with terminal illnesses and addictions.
