Inversion Workshop with Faith Hamilton

$35 Early Registration
$45 At Door

You loved the first one so much - and clamored for more! We are so pleased that Faith will be presenting Part II of this special workshop!

If inversions are something you would like to incorporate in your practice, then this workshop is for you.. Come learn the fine tuning to an inversion practice. Find out the safe way to move in & our of your inversions with confidence and flair.

There are a number of benefits of practicing yoga inversions. Here are just a few--When you are upright, gravity pulls the tissues and fluids in your body downwards, including blood. ... When you are upside down, you reverse the blood flow in your body and it encourages venous return – the return of blood flow back to the heart. Which means inversion allows you to feel and look younger working against gravity.

You'll leave this workshop feeling more confident and empowered to incorporate an inversion whenever you like in your own personal practice.

Functional Backbend Workshop With Larry Thraen

Larry Thraen will be leading this Yoga Alliance CE accredited workshop and is mentor to so many yoga instructors including two of your favorite instructors from Some Like it Hot Yoga and Fitness: Gem HappyHeart and Kristen Filloramo Mueller!

The workshop will focus on making the distinctions between traditional and strength based back-bending. We'll discover what is functionally safe vs. what may be 'over-prescribed' during many common yoga asana classes.

From hand and wrist foundational strength, to forearm, upper arms shoulders, entire back to glutes , hamstrings and quads, this class will be fun and challenging in all the areas mentioned.
Beginner curious to back-bendy friendly, there wil be something to take away from these exciting backbends to empower students to a new level.

More about Larry Thraen:

Yoga discovered Larry when he was training for marathons. In order to keep his body well despite an intense weekly running regimen, he intuitively combined stretching with breath. While living in NYC, he attended his first yoga class and realized he had been doing yoga all along.

Between 2007-2011, Larry completed over 1100 hours certification as a certified yoga teacher trainer through the School Yoga Institute. He considers himself fortunate to have studied extensively under Vinnie Marino, Bryan Kest, Annie Carpenter, Steve Ilg, Mark Blanchard and Kathryn Budig.

Larry believes yoga is a powerful way to stay connected. Through a devotional practice, bhakti, one can cultivate deeper spiritual, physical, and emotional connections with the self as well as others. “Pleasure is the body, Happiness is in the mind, Joy is in the spirit.” Larry now keeps his calendar full leading workshops and classes at many of Houston’s premieres studios and leads 200 & 300 hour advanced studies as well as yoga teacher trainings.

When not running, mountain biking, surfing, or traveling, he may be found learning new ways to optimize his life, and searching for ‘hole in the wall’ eats. Come and Join Larry and myself in a Blissful asana experience with singing bowls.

Kundalini Fundamentals - A Comprehensive Workshop with Kayla Ramirez

Kundalini is an ancient technology referred to as the Mother of all yoga, brought to the West by Yogi Bhajan. It's designed to wake up your "kundalini energy" which we all have. We're all born with it. It lies on our base chakra at the fourth vertebrae of our spine. We go along our day letting our energy settle to the base of our spine causing us to use that energy towards our negative emotions and actions throughout our day.

Why do we want to wake up this energy? So we can feel our 100% possibility of our being. You will elevate your consciousness promoting physical well-being, happiness, and harmony to oneself.

About Sara Kessmann Lewandowski:

Sara started her yoga practice in 2011 as a way to “just have fun” after many years in academia and heavy career aspirations. Since then, her practice has gradually evolved from a pure physical practice to the realization that yoga can benefit the body, mind and spirit.

With over 20 years experience in healthcare, Sara has had the opportunity to care for people in many major Houston hospitals with physiological diseases such as stroke, cardiovascular bypass surgery recovery and many other conditions that required rehabilitation. With that, she learned that every body system impacted always had an underlying psychological aspect. This solidified Sara's desire to learn more about the holistic aspects of yoga.

Sara believes practicing yoga is an alternative to transform the body, mind and spirit into the best version of oneself. When we continually work to become the best version of ourselves, we can effectively love and serve others.
